Christmas

He had an off day Christmas Eve, but Henry had a good Christmas, ... although I'm still not quite sure he 'got' it. He does enjoy a new fluffy bear and a musical pig,... and going after whatever his big brother is playing with.
He also enjoyed playing around in the back seat of the car with his brother, after a walk in Woods on Boxing Day.

Getting Bigger

Just under 13.5months old now, teething with his molars, and frustrated he's not walking yet.

Update

He's still not walking but he's cruising well. He's feeding himself breakfast and dinner once the utensil is loaded. And he really likes tossing a ball... over his head. Actually, he likes tossing anything over his head! Makes him giggle a lot. What a joy to watch!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Henry had a good birthday, although he didn't realize it! He only managed half a cupcake, and then his big brother opened most of his presents. He did manage to play with his big balloon though and I think that was enough for him. :)

Tuesday 21 October 2008

That's him on the Left... apparently.

What he's been up to...

Henry is approaching one year old, and he's into everything! He likes banging things, making noise, splashing, eating, his bottle, and playing with whatever his older brother is - you get the idea!

Doing fine

Stuck in the nowhere land between being a baby and being a toddler. He does crawl quickly though and pulls up on anything and everything. In general, a fairly happy baby (so far!)

On Holiday

Here's Henry in a Japanese boy's kimono. Borrowed from his 2nd cousin, it's meant to worn by the first born boy in a posed serious photo. This is the best we got!

On a more relaxed note, he seems to be enjoying California food on his holiday.

Movement

Haven't added a picture to make the point, but Henry has officially begun crawling today. He's been creeping for weeks but is now locomoting in a forward direction on hands and knees. In the past few days, he has also begun pulling himself to standing and cruising briefly along the furniture. Ain't no stoppin' him now.

Sunday 3 August 2008

Swings

Henry got to spend some time on a swing from this morning's walk.

Thursday 24 July 2008

He acts like he wants to crawl... hopefully I have at least a few weeks left before life becomes more chaotic than it already is. He is bum shuffling and rolling to move about though... I'm not sure George is aware of what he's in for!

Of whom does this remind you?

(I had to mess with the exposure/brightness a bit because of some shadows. Apologies.)

Wednesday 25 June 2008

The many faces of Henry

He's had his two lower incisors for a while but is now adding another lower incisor and two upper incisors. He's using them to help feed himself - grabbing fistfuls of carrot/parsnip/potato/avocado and smearing it in his mouth. No pincher grip yet but it should be a lot cleaner when he develops that! He's showing no interest in crawling, but is immensely entertained by his brother and everything else around, when he's not entertaining everyone else! This is a great age...

A Zoo

What is the best age to visit a Zoo?
Here's what it is to an almost 8 month old - sticking your feet in your older brother's hair while you mock him for having to crouch on your foot rest while you get to sit in the pushchair.

Fashion industry?

I often wonder what the future holds for him...
Here's a good over-the-shoulder shot, but he hasn't got the sashay yet.

What am I doing here?

Tuesday 20 May 2008

My cheeky monkeys

Time keeps marching on....

It's more apparent when I see them together like this.

He's sitting on his own about half the time, and today decided he wanted to feed himself creamy blueberry and banana. It was messy, but at least he was happy! He also likes chewing on everything and bouncing in his door bouncer. Still not QUITE sleeping through the night yet though...

Monday 12 May 2008

Penguin ears?

Friday 2 May 2008

Weaning

Well, necessity is the mother of invention - or something like that. Being the second child, he doesn't get the undivided attention his brother did. So sometimes he has to fend for himself. He managed his own bottle for a few moments this morning...

But this was his response to his THIRD spoonful of mummy's homemade carrot and chickpea soup. At least his brother and I enjoyed it!

Sunday 27 April 2008

Really happy...

My big bro

Henry beams a big smile at his big bro - I'm still hopeful they'll be friends.

Teeth....

Yup, it's there, and another one popped up today. 2 months earlier than his brother!

Monday 24 March 2008

My, what a long...

tongue you have!
Maybe he's getting ready for his days in a rock band?

Tuesday 18 March 2008

A different vantage

Creepy? Or a peek into the future? What Henry sees when he looks into his play mirror...

Monday 17 March 2008

Various

Hmmm....what's that down there?

Here Henry shows off a sporty look.

I don't think he's quite ready for rice, he still has the tongue reflex to spit it out, but he's eager to take it in. We'll see what happens in days to come.

Sunday 2 March 2008

Henry

13.8 pounds and 25 inches long, both just above the 25% percentile at his 3rd vaccination. He was 17 weeks old.
Just another smile from a smiling baby. He cries a lot too, and chatters all the time!

And I just like this one.

Sunday 10 February 2008

I wonder...

...what he's thinking?

Thursday 24 January 2008

Chatterbox

When he's on form, Henry will chat away for quite a while! Things like "ggggggggg" and "kkkkkkkkkkk", and "oooooooo", etc. Of course, not when his mommy is trying to catch it on video. But she did get a few smiles from him, so they're posted here. 17 secs.

We're struggling to get him on a feeding and sleeping schedule at the moment. So we're starting with 0700 wake up times - even if we've been up at 11, 2, 4, and 6 am! Fingers crossed we'll get somewhere...

Sunday 13 January 2008

Not yet...

There's a lot of anxiety about introducing a new child to the family: making the older one share his parents' attention, never giving the younger one the kind of attention his brother got for his first 2 years...but you hope it turns out alright in the end. Occasional trouble is guaranteed but for the time being, they seem to be adjusting.
